A Hopkinsville man who allegedly engaged in sexual activity with teenage girls after providing them with alcohol was arrested Thursday night. Hopkinsville police served the warrant for first-degree rape, two counts of second-degree rape, one count of first-degree sodomy and two counts of unlawful transaction with a minor against year old Earl Caldwell of Hopkinsville.

WTVF — A man convicted of attempted rape and attempted sodomy in the past is accused of raping a woman on the rail trail in Hopkinsville. Court documents say the victim was enticed to an area of the greenway away from public view where she was assaulted and raped. The woman managed to escape during a struggle with the suspect and fled to the nearby library, according to district court records.

A Hopkinsville man already on the Kentucky Sex Offender Registry was arrested Wednesday for an alleged rape near the rail-trail. An arrest citation for year old Orlando Montez Leavell says he enticed the female victim away from public view just after 4 p.

He then allegedly physically assaulted her and forced sexual intercourse. She was taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment of injuries.

Police were able to use video surveillance on the rail-trail to obtain a suspect description and Leavell was located at the West Seventh Street McDonalds. He had open scratch marks on his forearm that appeared to be defensive wounds and he matched the description of the suspect, according to the report.

Leavell allegedly tried to run from the McDonalds while being questioned, but was immediately caught and arrested. The Sex Offender Registry indicates he was ordered to be monitored for the rest of his life after being ly convicted of first-degree attempted rape and first-degree attempted sodomy.
